Well my brother is trying to get on a flight to NY at the tail end of blizzard time, and we’re waiting for him just in case outside the terminal in the parking lot… so figured I would take a minute and update my blog!

The holidays have been great. I took several additional days off work and spent a week with my family, which turned out to be one of my best decisions this year. The older I get, the more I appreciate being with them. I’m the one in my family who gets yelled at every year for giving too many gifts at Christmas time, and this year was no exception. And now that I’ve finally gotten a proper camera, I’m also getting yelled at for taking photos instead of eating.

The only downside to all the merrymaking is that I haven’t been able to make much progress on my album. And I’m starting to get gridlock on my creative freeway. If I don’t get ideas and projects done and out fast enough, the new ones start backing up behind them and honking impatiently. That’s what’s happening now. And it’s not just music, either. (mysterious pause)

What’s left to do on this album? Well I’ve been trying to record my backup vocalists. It’s hard scheduling three people. And they all wanna do it together because apparently they can’t record without there being some party/get-together involved. Then I’ll do a final mix and mastering and try to get my graphic design done, etc. I also need to be better about putting up content and updates because I’m always too focused on working on art that I tend to neglect everything else. So we’ll see if I can make that happen.

I also wanna do a music video or two at some point but running into some delays there, as well. It’s OK, though. If nothing else, I’ll just throw something together myself. At the very least, originality will be high.

OK my bro just called and he’s being offered a business class upgrade for tomorrow at the same time plus a $400 credit. He may take it because JFK is still a mess and he has no idea what time he’ll get home even if his flight takes off. So looks like we’re all going home and will be back here again tomorrow haha. Maybe I’ll actually be able to do two consecutive days of blogging :)
